Job Title: Cleaner

Job Purpose

To provide a high-quality cleaning service, ensuring that All Saints School is maintained in a clean, safe, and hygienic condition for students, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will carry out daily cleaning duties in accordance with school standards and health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Hoover carpets and floor areas throughout the school premises.
  


• Mop hard floors and ensure all surfaces are clean and presentable.
  


• Clean and sanitise toilet facilities, including sinks, mirrors, and fixtures.
  


• Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
  


• Dust, wipe, and disinfect surfaces, furniture, and touch points.
  


• Replenish consumable supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and hand towels where required.
  


• Maintain cleaning equipment and store it safely after use.
  


• Follow all Health & Safety and COSHH procedures.
  


• Report any maintenance issues, hazards, damages, or security concerns.
  


• Ensure all assigned areas are cleaned to a high standard at all times.
  

Experience Required

Essential

• Previous cleaning experience within a commercial, educational, healthcare, or similar environment.
  


• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  


• Strong attention to detail.
  


• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
  

Desirable

• Previous experience working in a school environment.
  


• Knowledge of COSHH regulations and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
  

Qualifications

Essential

• Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one prior to starting).
  


• Basic understanding of workplace Health & Safety requirements.
  

Desirable

• COSHH Awareness Training.
  


• Cleaning or Facilities Management qualification.
  


• Health & Safety certification.

Additional Information

·         Location: All Saints School, Newmarket, CB8 8JE

·         Hours: Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM – 6:15 PM

·         Weekly Hours: 13.75 hours per week

·         Pay Rate (Umbrella): £15.37 per hour

·         DBS Requirement: Enhanced DBS Required

·         Duties: Hoovering, mopping, emptying bins, and cleaning toilets and other school facilities.

• We operate on a bi-weekly payment schedule.
