Responsibilities

• Clean bed rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and living areas.
• Dust, sweep, and mop floors in all areas of the property.
• Change bed linens and replace towels and toiletries as needed.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
• Restock cleaning supplies and ensure all areas remain stocked and tidy.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and report any necessary repairs or replacements.
• Assist in organizing and preparing for events or guest gatherings as required.

• Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or a related field preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and an ability to follow instructions.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects, such as furniture and cleaning equipment.
• Good communication skills and a friendly demeanor towards guests and staff.
• Knowledge of cleaning products and safety protocols is a plus.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

We pay £16 per hour for 8 hours per week. Normally this will be in 2 half days but we can be flexible and work round other commitments. Although you would be the only person with housekeeping duties, other people such as gardening and administrative staff will also be present and we have a friendly coffee together every day at 11 when any issues can be discussed with the owners of the business. You will find that we are responsive to any issues that arise. This is also a time to get to know your colleagues as well. Barrow Castle is a beautiful house with amazing views, surrounded by beautiful gardens. This, along with interesting and friendly colleagues, make it a lovely environment in which to work.
