40 hours per week, Monday to Friday - flexible to
meet the needs of the business

Salary: £32,000-£34,000
per annum + car allowance/company car

Location: Hybrid/Field-Based -
with regular travel to customer sites across the UK and attendance at meetings
at our Chester Head Office.

Overview

We are looking
for an experienced Cleaning Contract Manager to take responsibility for the
delivery of cleaning services across a national portfolio of customer sites.

This is a
hands-on, field-based role for someone who enjoys being close to the operation
- spending time on site, building relationships with customers and teams,
maintaining high standards and making sure our services are delivered
consistently and effectively.

Working closely
with our Head of Cleaning Operations, you will have responsibility for the
day-to-day operational, people and financial management of the contract,
ensuring we deliver against our customer commitments while continuing to
improve the service we provide.

About the Role

As Cleaning
Contract Manager, you will take operational ownership of cleaning services
across a national portfolio, providing a visible and responsive management
presence for both our customers and our employees.

You will
regularly visit customer sites to review standards, meet with key stakeholders,
support site teams and ensure contractual requirements and agreed service
levels are being achieved.

People
management will be a key part of the role. You will work closely with site
supervisors and cleaning teams to ensure sites are appropriately staffed,
employees are supported and developed, and any performance, attendance or
employee relations matters are dealt with promptly and professionally.

You will also
be responsible for managing labour, materials, equipment and other expenditure
within agreed budgets, alongside identifying opportunities to improve
efficiency, service quality and the overall customer experience.

Responsibilities
include:

 

  • Taking full
    operational ownership of cleaning services across the assigned national
    portfolio.

  • Maintaining
    strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders through regular
    communication and site visits.

  • Ensuring
    cleaning services consistently meet contractual specifications, agreed service
    levels and customer expectations.

  • Carrying out
    regular site inspections and cleaning audits, identifying areas for improvement
    and ensuring actions are followed through to completion.

  • Leading and
    supporting site supervisors and cleaning teams to deliver consistently high
    standards.

  • Managing
    workforce requirements across the portfolio, including recruitment, induction,
    training, attendance, holidays and absence.

  • Managing
    employee performance and supporting formal people processes including
    investigations, attendance management and disciplinary matters.

  • Ensuring
    contractual hours are effectively managed and appropriate cover arrangements
    are in place.

  • Responding
    quickly to customer concerns and operational issues, taking ownership through
    to resolution.

  • Attending
    customer meetings and KPI reviews, providing accurate performance information
    and clear action plans.

  • Monitoring
    labour, consumables, equipment and other expenditure against agreed budgets.

  • Producing
    quotations for additional and specialist works and ensuring appropriate
    authorisation is obtained.

  • Ensuring sites
    have the equipment, chemicals, materials and consumables required to deliver
    the service safely and effectively.

  • Maintaining
    high standards of health & safety, quality and contractual compliance
    across all sites.

  • Using
    operational data, audits and performance trends to identify opportunities for
    continuous improvement.

  • Supporting
    environmental and sustainability initiatives across the contract.

  • Working
    collaboratively with colleagues across Anchor Group Services to deliver a
    consistent and professional service.


Requirements

  • Previous
    experience managing cleaning services across multiple sites or a large
    contract.

  • Strong
    operational knowledge of the cleaning industry and a good understanding of
    cleaning standards, equipment, chemicals and safe working practices.

  • Proven
    experience managing and developing cleaning teams, supervisors or site-based
    employees.

  • Strong customer
    relationship management skills with the confidence to engage with stakeholders
    at different levels.

  • Experience of
    managing service performance against contractual requirements and KPIs.

  • Good commercial
    awareness with experience of managing labour, materials and operational
    budgets.

  • Experience of
    managing core people processes including recruitment, absence, performance,
    investigations and disciplinary matters.

  • Strong
    organisational skills with the ability to manage a geographically dispersed
    portfolio and competing priorities.

  • A practical,
    solutions-focused approach with the ability to respond quickly when operational
    issues arise.

  • Good written
    and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear reports,
    action plans and customer updates.

  • Comfortable
    using digital systems and technology to manage operational performance and
    reporting.

  • Full UK driving
    licence and willingness to travel regularly to customer sites across the UK.
