The role: Cleaning Service Manager Location: Manchester Salary: £32kpa DOA Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday Working Hours The role operates across the following rotating shifts: · Two late shifts: 2:00pm–10:00pm · Two mid shifts: 12:00pm–8:00pm · One early shift: 10:00am–6:00pm · 30-minute unpaid break each day There is no regular weekend or bank holiday working, although occasional emergency cover may be required following a specific client request.
We are recruiting an experienced Cleaning Service Manager to oversee cleaning operations across a high-profile corporate contract. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day cleaning service, lead and support the on-site team, maintain strong client relationships and ensure all contractual standards, KPIs and service levels are consistently achieved.
What We Are Looking For We are seeking a confident and hands-on manager who can lead from the front, communicate effectively with both colleagues and clients and take full ownership of the cleaning operation. The successful candidate must be organised, professional, cost-conscious and committed to delivering an excellent service.
Main Responsibilities · Manage the daily delivery of cleaning services across the contract. · Lead, motivate and develop the on-site cleaning team. · Plan staff rotas and arrange cover for holidays, sickness and absences. · Ensure all contracted cleaning hours are delivered within the agreed labour budget. · Maintain accurate payroll, holiday, absence and clocking records through client portal. · Build and maintain a positive working relationship with the client. · Attend regular client meetings and provide clear service updates. · Monitor cleaning standards through regular inspections and joint client audits. · Produce and manage action plans following any audit failures. · Ensure all KPIs, SLAs and contractual specifications are achieved. · Complete inductions, toolbox talks and ongoing colleague training. · Manage staff performance, attendance, investigations and disciplinary matters with HR support. · Ensure compliance with health and safety, COSHH and company procedures. · Report accidents, hazards and near misses correctly. · Order cleaning materials, consumables, uniforms and PPE within budget. · Ensure cleaning equipment and machinery are maintained and any defects are reported. · Identify opportunities to improve the service and cleaning standards.
Skills and Experience · Previous experience managing a cleaning or soft facilities management service. · Proven experience leading and managing a team. · Strong knowledge of health and safety and COSHH requirements. · Experience working within a busy, high-pressure service environment. · Excellent communication and client relationship skills. · Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving abilities. · Confidence managing rotas, absence, performance and operational budgets. · Ability to maintain high cleaning standards and drive continuous improvement. · Comfortable using workforce management or time and attendance systems Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
