ClickHouse Database Engineer - Quantitative Hedge Fund

I am partnered with a leading technology driven, quantitative hedge fund who are seeking an experience Database Engineer with ClickHouse expertise.

You would be responsible for managing and optimising large-scale database systems supporting research and trading activities.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage and maintain ClickHouse clusters across distributed environments
2. Configure replication, sharding, and coordination services (Keeper/ZooKeeper)
3. Handle data lifecycle: partitioning, TTL, and merge operations
4. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise query performance
5. Manage server resources: CPU, memory, and disk
6. Design high availability and disaster recovery solutions
7. Enforce access controls and security policies
8. Support streaming and batch data ingestion pipelines

Requirements:

1. 5+ years as a DBA in production environments
2. Hands-on experience with distributed/clustered ClickHouse
3. Confident tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting at scale, with a solid understanding of HA and disaster recovery
4. Strong SQL, Linux/UNIX, familiarity with streaming pipelines like Kafka, and exposure to PostgreSQL or SQL Server.
