Client Manager - Accountancy Practice
Midlothian (Hybrid: 1-2 days in office)
Permanent | Full-time or Part-time
£30,000 - £45,000 DOE

Valeco Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Midlothian to recruit a Client Manager on a permanent basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual with practice experience who is looking for a flexible hybrid role - typically just 1-2 days per week in the office, with the remainder working from home.

As Client Manager, you’ll take ownership of a varied portfolio of clients - including SMEs, sole traders, and partnerships. You’ll lead on both compliance and advisory work, with opportunities to deepen your expertise in personal tax and specialist advisory services.

You’ll be the go-to contact for your clients, ensuring they receive timely, accurate, and proactive support. You’ll also mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of the practice.

• Preparation and review of statutory accounts (FRS105 & FRS102)

• Corporation and personal tax returns

• VAT returns, sole trader and partnership accounts

• Trust tax returns and CGT 60-day reporting

• Supporting clients with Xero, QuickBooks, and FreeAgent

• Advising clients and preparing bespoke fee quotes

• Supervising and mentoring junior staff

• Previous experience in a practice environment

• Strong working knowledge of personal and corporate tax

• AAT qualified or working toward a professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CA)

• Excellent communication and client management skills

• Proactive, organised, and comfortable managing your own portfolio

• Salary of £30,000 - £45,000, depending on experience

• Hybrid working - just 1-2 days per week in the office
