About the Role:

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive client manager to join a growing accountancy practice based in Cardiff. This role is perfect for someone ready to take on a more complex portfolio of clients while supporting the wider team and helping to free up the workload of one of the firm’s directors.

You’ll be stepping into a well-managed and friendly practice environment, with the current postholder leaving on good terms for a progression opportunity. Initially, the role will require one day a week in Bristol until the team there is established.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of clients, handling more complex accounts and tax matters

• Develop strong, long-term client relationships through regular communication and proactive advice

• Review and finalise accounts, VAT returns, and tax computations prepared by junior staff

• Support and mentor a small team

• Assist with internal practice development and workflow improvements

• Provide ad-hoc support to the director and help reduce their day-to-day operational workload

• ATT level 4 qualified, part ACA/ACCA (qualified candidates also welcome)

• Previous experience in a practice with client-facing responsibilities

• Confident managing your own portfolio and handling more technical or complex client needs

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Able to work independently and take initiative, while also being a team player
