Client Manager / Audit Manager (Mixed Role)

Location: Near Ferndown

Reports to: Partners / Senior Management
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £55,000 - £75,000 per annum similar sized

Role: 50% Audit and 50% looking after a portfolio of non audit clients (accounts preparation, corporate and personal tax work for that portfolio, under partner oversight),

Growing Accountancy Firm, well established in the area committed to delivering exceptional audit, tax, and advisory services. Currently a staff team of circa 30 and expanding.

As a Client Manager / Audit Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing a portfolio of clients, overseeing audit and assurance engagements, and supporting the development of junior team members. You will be the key point of contact for clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery and compliance with regulatory standards.

• Manage and lead audit assignments from planning through to completion for a range of clients.
• Act as the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients, building strong, long-term relationships.
• Review and sign off audit files, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop junior staff, providing on-the-job training and performance feedback.
• Liaise with Partners and Directors to ensure client expectations are met and exceeded.
• Identify opportunities for additional services and support business development initiatives.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial statements, reports, and audit documentation.
• Keep up to date with changes in accounting and auditing standards and regulatory requirements.

• ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an accountancy practice, ideally working in a similatr sized firm and familar managing audits from planning through to fieldwork through to finalisation (up to partner/RI review stage),
• Familiar taking a small audit team out on site and leading each audit assignment
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and auditing standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Experience with cloud-based accounting systems (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks).
• Sector-specific experience (e.g., charities, property, manufacturing, etc.).
• Business development or networking experience.
