Permanent Clinical Lead in a nursing home in the Newcastle area. The service supports older people, including people living with dementia, and provides nursing and residential care. You report to the registered manager and you lead the nursing.
The hours are 35 a week, worked flexibly across days and nights. The annual NMC fee is paid. Uniform, parking and tea and coffee are free. There is a contributory pension with enhanced employer contributions, enhanced sick pay, and free life assurance.
We need a nurse who already knows older people's care and can lead a team without being new to the responsibility. The work is hands on clinical judgement as well as supervision, records and cover when the manager is off.
Skills and responsibilities
* Deliver clinical care to a high standard and promote dignity and respect.
* Lead and support the nursing team, share best practice, and mentor colleagues.
* Use a strong working knowledge of care plans and clinical compliance.
* Evaluate and review individual health needs and make clinical decisions.
* Monitor and review care plans and risk assessments.
* Support admission and discharge.
* Liaise with families and other professionals when planning care.
* Support a rota that keeps the home safe, and make sure whoever is in charge in your absence is skilled and clear on their duties.
* Help with selection and induction of new staff when required.
* Direct, motivate, supervise, train and develop the team.
Requirements
* A relevant nursing qualification and current registration with the NMC.
* Experience in a similar role.
* Excellent knowledge of care plans and clinical compliance.
* The ability to review health needs and make clinical decisions.
* Confidence to lead, mentor and raise standards.
* A commitment to quality care for older people.
* The right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
* Able to work days and nights on a 35 hour week.
