Job Description - Clinical Nurse Specialist X2

CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST X2, DRUG & ALCOHOL LIAISON TEAM (DALT), NOTTINGHAM RECOVERY NETWORK, NOTTINGHAM, 37 HPW, SALARY: £35,392 - £42,618 FTE PER ANNUM, PERMANENT
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist within the Drug & Alcohol Liaison Team (DALT) Nottingham Recovery Network. The Nottingham Recovery Network is a single point of advice, support, and treatment to anyone in Nottingham City who wishes to change their relationship with Drugs or Alcohol.
DALT is a Multi-Disciplinary Team working towards a long-term plan to reduce the impacts of Alcohol and Drug related harm.
DALT provide identification and brief advice (IBA) extended Alcohol advice and harm reduction interventions to patients. You will be responsible for assessing patients in a hospital setting and providing support around prescribing and the medical management of our patients.
The role will include working alongside Nottingham University Hospital colleagues on various wards across QMC and The City Campus. You will be responsible for community referrals to various agencies in the city and county substance use services.
Responsibilities:
• You will have proven experience of working with people who use drugs and alcohol (minimum 2 years).
• You will have excellent communication skills and knowledge of harm reduction models for Drugs and Alcohol.
• You will have knowledge of medically assisted withdrawal for Alcohol, relapse prevention medication and opioid substitute therapy.
• Be able to case load supervise and support staff within their role to ensure high standards of clinical governance are adhered too.
• Be able to build professional working relationships with partner agencies, stakeholders and NUH colleagues.
• Be fully aware and have extensive knowledge of safeguarding issues and be able to advise and support staff.
• Will develop and assist in the delivery of health promotion and training across Nottingham City and within the team/ NUH
• Be able to lead on projects that are related to service development.
• Support the management team in the day to day running of the service.
• You must be able to work on own initiative and have a can- do attitude.
• You will be provided with ongoing professional development and registration requirements through the NMC. You will also have access to ongoing clinical supervision.
You will be required to work 37 hours per week usually Monday- Friday with some weekend working if required
