Clinical Psychologist – Residential Care & Specialist SEMH School


Location: Ripponden, West Yorkshire
Salary: Band 7/8a equivalent- depending on experience, pro rata
Hours: Full-time / Part-time considered
Contract: Permanent

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our therapeutic team within a dynamic, trauma-informed service for children and young people living in residential care and attending our specialist SEMH school.


Our integrated model combines residential care, specialist education, and clinical input to provide holistic support for children with complex trauma histories, attachment difficulties, and neurodevelopmental needs. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will play a central role in supporting recovery, relational repair, and emotional development.



What You’ll Be Doing:



  • Conducting psychological assessments and formulations

  • Delivering individual, group, and systemic interventions

  • Supporting staff teams through consultation, reflective practice, and training

  • Working closely with education and care colleagues to embed trauma-informed practice

  • Contributing to care planning, risk assessment, and outcome monitoring

  • Engaging families where possible in therapeutic and systemic work

What We’re Looking For:



  • HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist (newly qualified or experienced)

  • Experience or interest in working with looked-after children, complex trauma, and SEMH needs

  • A collaborative, emotionally attuned approach and commitment to trauma-informed care

  • Knowledge of attachment theory, systemic thinking, and therapeutic models such as DDP, CAT, EMDR, or ACT is desirable
