Step into a pivotal leadership role where you can shape the future of a dedicated dementia care home, driving standards, culture, and outcomes for residents and staff alike. This is a permanent opportunity for an experienced RGN Registered Manager to lead a well-established service, with a competitive salary of £60,000–£65,000 and the autonomy to deliver meaningful, measurable improvement. The home received a “Requires Improvement” CQC rating three years ago, and you will be instrumental in consolidating progress and achieving consistently high regulatory standards.
About the Role: As the Clinical Registered Manager, you will hold overall responsibility for the safe, effective, and compassionate delivery of care within the home. You will lead and develop a multidisciplinary team, embedding robust clinical governance, regulatory compliance, and patient-centred care planning. Your leadership will directly influence the quality of life for residents, the confidence of families, and the professional growth of your team.

Key Requirements: * Current NMC registration as a Registered General Nurse (RGN). * Proven experience in a Registered Manager or equivalent senior leadership role within a care home or similar clinical setting. * Strong knowledge of CQC standards, regulatory requirements, and best practice in dementia care. * Demonstrable experience of leading teams, managing performance, and fostering a positive, accountable culture. * Track record of implementing and sustaining clinical governance and quality improvement frameworks. * Confident in interpreting and using audit data, incident trends, and feedback to drive service improvement. * Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels. * Resilient, organised, and able to manage complex, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Skills: * Experience in turning around or improving services previously rated “Requires Improvement” or similar by CQC. * Advanced knowledge of dementia care models and best practice approaches. * Experience in change management, service redesign, or implementing new clinical pathways. * Familiarity with electronic care planning and clinical documentation systems. * Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, including GPs, community teams, and commissioners.
Qualifications: * Registered General Nurse (RGN) with valid NMC registration – essential. * Management or leadership qualification (e.g. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care, or equivalent) – highly desirable. * Evidence of ongoing professional development in clinical governance, dementia care, or quality improvement – desirable. * Additional training or certification in safeguarding, mental capacity, or deprivation of liberty safeguards – advantageous.
