Randstad Student Support is seeking an experienced, fully qualified practitioner to deliver reflective group clinical supervision for the internal Student Mental Health & Wellbeing team at the University of Southampton.

This role plays a vital part in supporting practitioner wellbeing, professional practice, and emotional resilience across a dedicated team of student support professionals.

About the Role

As a Staff Supervisor, you will provide structured group and individual reflective supervision for approximately 45 staff members within the university's mental health and wellbeing services. Supervision is delivered in small cohorts to encourage peer reflection, emotional support, and professional growth.

The focus of this supervision is non-clinical case reflection, practitioner self-care, complex case management oversight, and ethical practice within the higher education context.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver Reflective Supervision: Facilitate high-quality group and 1-to-1 virtual or on-campus supervision sessions for university mental health advisers and support staff.
Promote Practitioner Wellbeing: Create a safe, confidential, and supportive environment to discuss emotional casework impact, burnout prevention, and resilience strategies.
Maintain Professional & Ethical Standards: Guide supervisees in navigating professional boundaries, ethical considerations, and multi-agency support pathways in accordance with professional body frameworks.
Record Keeping & Governance: Log session attendance, record overarching themes, and contribute to termly/annual supervision review summaries for service managers.
Safeguarding & Escalation: Adhere strictly to escalation protocols in the event that serious practice concerns or safeguarding risks emerge during supervision.

Key Requirements & Person Specification

Professional Accreditation & Qualification

Professional Registration: Active registration and good standing with a recognised UK professional body, such as BACP, UKCP, BPS, NMC, Social Work England (SWE), CCW, or equivalent.
Supervisory Experience: Substantial experience providing clinical or reflective supervision to individual practitioners or groups.

Experience & Competencies

Proven track record in mental health, social care, or counselling sectors.
Strong familiarity with the Higher Education context and student mental health dynamics.
Excellent facilitation, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
Thorough knowledge of safeguarding protocols, boundary management, and risk governance.

Package & Delivery Details

Competitive Pay: £35.00 per hour for supervision delivery, complemented by an agreed admin fee structure covering session preparation and theme reporting.
Flexible Delivery: Delivery options include both on-campus sessions at Highfield Campus and virtual sessions to align with staff shift patterns.
