Job Overview:

The FinOps Certified Professional will be integral in implementing and optimizing financial operations within the cloud infrastructure of the organization. This specialist will leverage FinOps principles to drive cost efficiency and enhance value from cloud investments by enabling cross-functional teams to collaborate effectively in managing cloud resources.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Develop and execute FinOps strategies that align with the organization’s cloud computing goals.
Conduct detailed analyses of cloud spending and usage to identify optimization opportunities.
Collaborate with IT, procurement, and finance departments to ensure cloud budgeting, forecasting, and spend optimization align with financial practices and business objectives.
Implement and manage cost allocation, show back, and chargeback processes to ensure transparency and accountability in cloud spending.
Monitor and report on cloud expenditure with regular performance metrics to inform management and stakeholders of trends and cost-saving opportunities.
Facilitate the adoption of automated tools and processes for efficient cloud resource management and cost monitoring.
Lead training and development sessions for teams across the organization to promote FinOps best practices and tools.
Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies in cloud economics and financial management, and adjust strategies accordingly.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, IT, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
FinOps Certified Professional Certification.
Solution Architect Certification in AWS, Azure or GCP.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a FinOps, cloud economics, or a related financial management role within IT environments.
Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their respective pricing models and cost management tools.
Proven ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
Strong project management skills and the ability to lead initiatives and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
