Job Description3-Month FTC The opportunityAre you looking for experience working on client and matter inception? We're looking for a CMI Assistant to help support our growing CMI Team, this will be for an initial 6 months.We can offer you:A great mix of work within a supportive and collaborative teamA culture of trust and empowerment with responsibility and autonomy over your workThe support and encouragement of a great team behind you who want to help you thriveA competitive package with great benefitsThe role:To work as part of a centralised Client and Matter Inception (CMI) team providing a professional high quality, solution focused and efficient client on-boarding and matter opening journey. Ensuring all work requests are carried out in line with AML and other regulatory requirements. Working to set SLAs in order to meet clients’ needs.Responsibilities include:Playing a key role in helping the firm embed new CMI processes and working practicesLiaising with the legal teams and external clients to obtain information and documentation as required.Conducting research on clients using the firm’s systems and public sources to meet the firm’s regulatory requirementsConducting risk assessments & client due diligence at inceptionCarrying out searches to identify whether a client is politically exposed or subject to sanctionsPrioritising and processing all work requests in line with expectations and agreed SLAsProvide expert assistance to the firm in relation to resolving client on-boarding and matter opening issues when requiredTaking responsibility for ensuring each piece of work is correctly saved and accessible in a timely mannerProactively clarifying instructions with legal departments and requestors should they be unclear or if deadlines are not made explicitProactively sharing information and documenting best practice and fixesShowing initiative when responding to queries and actively trying to seek solutions to problemsSharing knowledge and providing guidance to internal clients regarding the best approach to take to achieve the desired outcomeTo be flexible in meeting the needs of the team and the business e.g. occasional shift changes (with reasonable notice) to accommodate team meetings, training sessions and meet client requirements etc.Any other duties commensurate with the postSkills and experience you will have:Experience of working in a similar role within the legal sectorKnowledge of AML rules and KYC (know your client) requirements for law firmsEfficient and accurate typing skillsExcellent attention to detail with a keen eye for presentationAdvanced IT skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office productsExperience of using document, case and practice management systemsEffective communicator, able to build and maintain professional relationships with colleaguesThe team:To provide truly outstanding client service we work as one team.
