The Opportunity

A leading motorsport and advanced engineering business in Banbury is looking for an experienced CMM Programmer to join its Inspection team.

You'll work closely with Production and Quality, ensuring components move efficiently through the shop using accurate and trusted measurement data.

This is a genuinely motorsport-standard engineering environment, where precision, repeatability and attention to detail are critical.

Key Responsibilities:
Programme, validate and operate CMM inspection equipment using PC-DMIS
Create inspection programmes for new products and process changes
Support goods-inwards, in-process and first-off inspection
Inspect components from the in-house Machine Shop
Troubleshoot and optimise existing programmes for accuracy, repeatability and cycle time
Produce clear dimensional inspection reports and ballooned inspection drawings
Carry out manual dimensional inspection using 2D drawings, CAD data and engineering specifications
Use a range of inspection equipment, including: Trimos, Mitutoyo SurfTest, Hand tools, gauges and Hardness testing equipment
Act as the technical point of contact between Inspection and other departments regarding measurement results and quality concerns
We're looking for someone with:
Proven metrology and inspection experience within motorsport or low-volume automotive engineering
Strong experience programming and operating CMMs using PC-DMIS
Excellent understanding of 2D engineering drawings, CAD data and GD&T
Strong manual inspection and metrology skills
A methodical approach based on sound measurement principlesDesirable Experience:
PC-DMIS Level 3 training
Machine Shop inspection experience
FTA in CAD
Experience with composites
Precision machining
Surface coatings
Subcontract manufacturing operations
