CNC 4-Axis Horizontal / 5-Axis Milling Engineer
Location: Glasgow
Shift Pattern: 3-shift rotation, Monday-Friday (37 hours/week)
Pay Rate: £22.40 per hour (inclusive of shift allowance)
Contract Type: Permanent

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading precision engineering business based in Glasgow, currently seeking an experienced CNC 4-Axis Horizontal or 5-Axis Milling Engineer to join their expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a time-served machinist or a technically qualified individual with proven experience working to tight tolerances in a high-spec, fast-paced environment.

• Early Shift:
  Monday to Thursday - 6:00 am to 2:00 pm
  Friday - 6:00 am to 1:00 pm

• Back Shift:
  Monday to Thursday - 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm
  Friday - 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm

• Night Shift:
  Monday to Thursday - 10:00 pm to 6:00 am
  Friday - 10:00 pm to 5:00 am

• Set, program, and operate 4-axis horizontal or 5-axis milling machines.

• Work from detailed engineering drawings and specifications.

• Monitor and adjust machining processes to ensure precision and productivity.

• Carry out routine maintenance to maximise machine uptime.

• Inspect finished components to ensure high quality and dimensional accuracy.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist the Manufacturing Lead as needed.

• Adhere to all H&S standards and maintain a clean, safe working environment.

• Proven background in CNC Milling (4-axis horizontal or 5-axis experience essential).

• Skilled in reading engineering drawings and using hand tools.

• Able to demonstrate programming/editing capability at the machine.

• Strong understanding of precision tolerances and quality inspection techniques.

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and 5S is desirable.

• Previous experience working on Matsuura 5-axis and horizontal machines with Fanuc or G-Tech controls is highly desirable.

• Matsuura 35v / 3vs (Fanuc Series 16i-M)

• Matsuura 42v / 63v (G-Tech 30i)

• Matsuura H-Max & MAM 900 (Fanuc Series 16i-M)
