Job Description - CNC Lathe Programmer

Our client, a renowned Steel Stockholders in West Bromwich is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer who is looking for a progressive role on a permanent basis!

Annual Salary: £32,500
Weekly Hours: Mon to Thurs - 7.30am to 4pm, Fri - 7.30am to 12.30pm

Person specification:

Have experience with CNC Turning, based on Siemens controls
Able to read engineering drawing
Well organised, multi-skilled, self-motivated and professional
Good timekeeping and attendance
Responsible for achieving own key objectives, as well as the objectives of the team
Able to prioritise own workload and work to tight deadlines under pressure
Computer literate and able to communicate and record information effectively
Attention to detail; accuracy is paramount
Able to communicate at all levels

Your responsibilities:

Operate standard tool room equipment proficiently
Operate a Forklift Truck to assist with daily duties whilst also enabling tooling to be delivered to production
Ensure as part of the team, manufacture is covered in a timely manner so that try-out dates are met
Ensure as part of the team, breakdowns are covered in a timely manner so that production downtime is kept to a minimum
Aim for a “right first time” approach to all work carried out
Liaise with contractors/suppliers where required and when additional support is needed, including agreeing timescales and costs
Maintain awareness and ensure full compliance with Health and Safety legislation, housekeeping standards and Company rules and procedures
