The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Machining Centre Operator / Horizontal Machining Centre Operator to join an established engineering and manufacturing business based in Bolton.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC machinist looking for a permanent position offering a competitive hourly rate, consistent Monday-to-Friday day shifts, and the opportunity to work within a professional engineering environment.

We are keen to hear from candidates with experience operating CNC machining centres, particularly horizontal machining centres, within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operating CNC machining centres and/or horizontal machining centres.

*

Loading and unloading components, ensuring parts are machined to the required specifications.

*

Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.

*

Carrying out in-process inspection using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers and other precision measuring instruments.

*

Monitoring machine performance and maintaining consistent product quality.

*

Identifying and reporting any machining or quality issues.

*

Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.

*

Working to production targets and established quality standards.

Skills and Experience Required

*

Previous experience operating CNC machining centres or horizontal machining centres.

*

Experience within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.

*

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

*

Competent using precision measuring equipment.

*

A good understanding of machining processes and quality requirements.

*

Reliable, organised and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Experience with CNC setting, tooling adjustments or machine offsets would be advantageous.
