CNC Machine Operator Trainee Machine Operator

Abatec is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business producing high-quality components for commercial and industrial applications. The company operates in a fast-paced, precision-led environment with a strong focus on quality and safety.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous CNC, machining, engineering or manufacturing experience who is looking to develop their skills within a stable and growing business.

Experience with CNC machinery and Heidenhain controls would be advantageous; however, additional training will be provided.
Hours

* Monday to Friday / Rotating shifts:

6:00am – 2:00pm / 2:00pm – 10:00pm

Pay & Benefits

* from £14.20 per hour basic rate + £0.50 per hour attendance bonus

* Equivalent basic salary from £28,666 per annum

Duties:

* Set and operate CNC machinery

* Read engineering drawings and work to required tolerances

* Carry out machine set-ups and component changeovers

* Complete quality and dimensional checks

* Monitor machines, tooling and production quality

* Work to production plans and daily targets

* Report faults, breakdowns and downtime

* Complete required production paperwork

* Maintain a clean and safe working area

* Follow all Health & Safety procedures

About You

We are looking for candidates with:

* Previous CNC, machining, engineering or manufacturing experience

* Mechanical knowledge and confidence using hand tools

* Ability to read technical or engineering drawings

* Good attention to detail and quality

* Ability to work accurately to procedures and tolerances

* Strong communication and teamwork skills

* Reliable attendance and good timekeeping

* Willingness to learn and undertake further CNC training

* Experience with Heidenhain controls would be advantageous
