CNC Machine Setter/Operator

Abatec are currently recruiting for a Manual / CNC Machine Setter Operator for a well-established company operating within the engine remanufacturing sector, based in the Weston-super-Mare/Clevedon area.

This is a hands-on engineering role, ideal for someone with previous experience in machining, production, engine reconditioning or a similar engineering environment. You will be responsible for setting and operating specialist machinery, working on engine components and ensuring finished parts meet the required quality standards.

Competitive Salary: £24,785 – £35,100 per annum DOE

Weekly pay every Friday

Overtime available for additional earnings

Key responsibilities:

*

Set up and operate manual and CNC-assisted machinery

*

Operate SERDI machinery, including cutting valve seats

*

Position and set the components ready for machining

*

Select and set the correct tooling

*

Make manual machine adjustments as required

*

Operate CNC machinery using existing programmes – no programming required

*

Machine and remanufacture components/products

*

Carry out polishing and finishing using hand and power tools

*

Check finished components and measurements against required tolerances

*

Identify any defects or issues with components

*

Maintain a high standard of quality and workmanship

*

Follow all health & safety and production procedures

Requirements:

*

Previous experience within manufacturing, production, machining or engineering

*

Previous machine operating, setting or mechanical experience would be advantageous

*

Experience working with manual or CNC machinery

*

Confident using basic hand and power tools

*

Good attention to detail

*

Able to work accurately and follow set processes

*

Reliable, punctual and able to work independently or as part of a team

Previous experience with SERDI machinery, press brake machinery, cylinder-head machining or precision engineering would be highly advantageous.
