?? £30,000 – £35,000 DOE + Overtime

?? Monday to Thursday, 10:30am–9:00pm (Fridays off)

A well-established precision engineering firm near Copthorne is seeking a CNC Machinist to join its expanding late shift. The company produces high-tolerance, low-volume parts for specialist industries including motorsport, aerospace, and technical R&D.

This is a full-time, permanent role offering excellent stability, a clean modern workshop, and real development opportunities for the right machinist.

?? What You’ll Do:

• Set and operate CNC lathes and/or mills (Fanuc, Mazatrol, or similar controls)
• Machine small batches to tight tolerances, working from detailed technical drawings
• Make offset adjustments, change tooling, and conduct basic machine maintenance
• Inspect components using manual measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges)
• Support programming and setup of new jobs — training provided if needed

? What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience as a CNC Setter/Operator or Machinist
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings confidently
• Programming experience preferred (but not essential — training will be provided)
• Strong attention to detail, self-sufficiency, and pride in workmanship
• Experience with prototype or short-run production desirable
