CNC Machinist

Title: CNC Machinist

Location: Corby, Northampton

Shift: Monday to Friday - rotating days, backs, and nights (15-shift days per month)

Salary: Circa £36,000 - £38,000 per annum (including shift allowance)

The Company:

We are undergoing substantial investment and development to drive the organisation's mission of being a sustainable metal provider. This role is ideal for someone with strong machining and engineering skills and is secure, progressive, and part of an exciting investment programme.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce and repair one-off and small-batch components.
• Operate a wide range of machines, including CNC lathes/mills, manual lathes, boring mills, grinders, and more.
• Work with precision to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Manufacture items to a high standard, meeting all deadlines.
• Assist in the transition to our new, modern Engineering Shop.
• Support apprentice training.
• Manage the collection and delivery of samples and stands on-site.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement and maintain high safety and housekeeping standards.
• Adhere to all works procedures, PPE instructions, and UK Health and Safety legislation.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Essential Qualifications & Experience
• Time-served apprenticeship and/or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience working in a heavy industrial environment.
• Proficiency with manual lathes, milling machines, and standard workshop tools.
• Understanding of safe systems of work.
• Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle (required for shift work).
• Experience with setting and programming CNC machines. (Desirable)
• IOSH or NEBOSH safety qualification. (Desirable)
