CNC Machinist

Job Title: CNC Machinist

Location: Thetford, Norfolk

Hours: 40 hours per week - Monday to Thursday, 7:30am-5:30pm

Job Specification:

• Operate 3-axis CNC machines, including safe loading and unloading of work pieces

• Set up machines with tools, fixtures, and materials to meet production requirements

• Work from engineering drawings and job sheets to produce components to specification

• Carry out basic CNC programming or make simple edits to existing programs (desirable but not essential)

• Monitor machining processes, ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to tolerances

• Inspect finished parts using standard measurement equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers)

• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work areas clean and safe

• Support production flow by collaborating with other departments (finishing, coatings, fabrication)

• Follow company Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards (ISO 9001/14001/45001 certified)

• Maintain accurate records of jobs, inspections, and any adjustments made

Key Skills:

• CNC machining experience (3-axis preferred)

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

• Safe and efficient machine operation (loading/unloading)

• Basic CNC programming knowledge (advantageous)

• Quality inspection and measurement skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Good organisational and time-management skills

• Team player with good communication skills

• Reliability and punctuality
