CNC Machinist - Miller / Setter / Operator - Lates

Position: CNC Machinist – Late Shift
Location: Portsmouth
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000
Hours: 4-day working week

• Monday to Wednesday: 15:30 – 01:30
  
  
• Thursday: 15:30 – 23:30
  
  

Role Overview A well-established precision engineering company in Portsmouth, renowned for over 40 years of manufacturing world-leading precision products, is seeking a skilled CNC Miller to join their team. The successful candidate will be proficient in setting up and operating CNC milling machines, preferably with experience on Bridgeport and Heidenhain controls.

Key Requirements

• Proven ability to set and operate CNC milling machines.
  
  
• Knowledge of CNC control languages such as Heidenhain or Fanuc.
  
  
• Experience with tooling changes and managing offsets.
  
  
• Competent in using manual measuring instruments.
  
  
• Strong understanding of drawing tolerances and technical specifications, including GD&T.
  
  

Essential Criteria

• Right to live and work in the UK (mandatory due to product sensitivity).
  
  
• Clean criminal record (essential given the nature of the products handled).
  
  
• Ability to efficiently set up and operate CNC mills using Bridgeport/Heidenhain systems.
  
  
• Sound knowledge of tooling offsets and tool change processes.
  
  
• Robust understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
