CNC Machinist - Points and Crossings

Location: Lillie Bridge Depot, London
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: 6 months rolling

Pay: £44.49 per hour (Inside IR35)

The Role

We are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join a busy rail engineering team based onsite at Lillie Bridge Depot.

The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC machines, producing high-quality components to engineering drawings and required tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

Programme, set and operate CNC machinery using Heidenhain controls
Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
Select appropriate tooling, speeds and feeds
Carry out machining operations to required tolerances and quality standards
Inspect finished components using appropriate measuring equipment
Identify and resolve machining issues and make programme/tooling adjustments where required
Maintain a safe, clean and efficient working environment

Requirements

Proven experience as a CNC Machinist
Strong Heidenhain control and programming experience - essential
Experience programming, setting and operating CNC machines
Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
Good knowledge of machining processes, tooling and inspection
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Previous experience within an engineering, manufacturing or maintenance environment is desirable
Ability to work onsite at Lillie Bridge Depot
