CNC Miller / CNC Machinist - Nights

Location: Preston
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9:30pm - 7:30am
Basic Rate: £17.00 per hour
Night Shift Rate: £22.61 per hour including 33% shift allowance
Shift: Permanent Nights - 4 Night Week
We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller / CNC Machinist to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business on their permanent night shift.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced machinist looking for a 4-night working week, Monday to Thursday.

The Role

You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines, producing precision-engineered components to the required specifications and quality standards.
There is NO programming required for this position.
Key responsibilities will include:

Setting and operating CNC milling machines
Working predominantly with 5-axis machining
Producing precision components from engineering drawings
Carrying out machine set-ups and tool changes
Checking components using appropriate measuring equipment
Ensuring finished components meet required tolerances
Working with machinery including Mazak and Hurco
Maintaining high standards of quality and safety

What We're Looking For

The successful CNC machinist will:

Have previous CNC milling experience
Ideally have experience with 5-axis machining
Be confident setting and operating CNC machinery
Be able to read and understand engineering drawings
Have a good understanding of engineering tolerances
Ideally be time-served or apprentice-trained
Have previous experience within a precision engineering/manufacturing environment
Be comfortable working permanent nights
You do NOT need CNC programming experience - this is a setting and operating position.

Hours & Pay

Monday - Thursday
9:30pm - 7:30am
£17.00 per hour basic rate
+ 33% night shift allowance
£22.61 per hour total night rate
