Monday to Thursday: 6:00pm – 6:00am

Salary:£51,480 per annum

About the Company

Our client is a global leader in industrial automation, specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke engineering solutions for leading brands worldwide.

Based at a modern 75,000 sq. ft. engineering and manufacturing facility in Wakefield, the business is experiencing continued growth and is looking to strengthen its machining team with an experienced CNC Miller – Programmer / Setter / Operator.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC Miller to work on a varied range of low-volume, high-precision components and bespoke engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

Set up, programme and operate HAAS 3-axis vertical machining centres (VF2 to VF9).
Manufacture precision component parts in accordance with engineering drawings and specified tolerances.
Carry out in-process inspection using appropriate measuring equipment.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy and workmanship.
Keep the work area clean, organised and safe.
Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as required to support the production team.

Qualifications

City & Guilds qualification (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline (desirable).

Skills & Experience

Proven experience setting, programming and operating HAAS CNC milling machines.
Programming experience is highly advantageous.
Ability to use a range of precision inspection and measuring equipment.
Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerances.
Ability to consistently produce components to tight tolerances.
Good awareness of health and safety within a manufacturing environment.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge and experience of 4th and 5th axis machining would be advantageous.
