Job Title: CNC Miller Programmer – Heidenhain

Salary:Up to £21.00 per hour DOE (depending on experience and skill level)
Working Hours
4-Day Working Week
Monday to Thursday: 6:00am – 3:30pm Paid for 39 hours per week. Employees can either take their paid 15-minute tea break each day or work through it. Friday overtime available until 12:00pm, paid at 1.5x the hourly rate. Additional overtime is available and paid at 1.5x.

Based in Bury, our client is a well-established precision engineering company specialising in the manufacture of high-quality, one-off bespoke machined components for a wide range of industries. They are known for investing in modern machinery, maintaining exceptionally high quality standards and providing a stable, supportive working environment with opportunities to work on varied and technically challenging projects.
Key Responsibilities
Programme, set and operate 3-axis CNC milling machines using Heidenhain controls. Machine one-off bespoke components, including large fabricated and framework parts up to 4–5 metres in length. Read and interpret engineering drawings. Produce high-quality precision components to fine tolerances. Inspect finished components using standard measuring equipment. Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment. Work independently and collaboratively within the engineering team. Support production requirements, including overtime when required.
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines using Heidenhain controls. The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Experience machining one-off bespoke components and large fabrications is highly desirable. Experience using standard inspection equipment such as verniers, micrometers and gauges. A strong focus on quality and attention to detail. Good organisational and time management skills. A reliable, professional and self-motivated attitude. An engineering apprenticeship is desirable, although relevant experience is the overriding factor.
