CNC Mill-Turn Machinist

Elevation Recruitment Group is representing a leader in the oil and gas industry, seeking skilled CNC Millturn Machinists for their Stockport site.

Location: Stockport
Shifts: Nights, Monday to Thursday 8.30pm to 7am
Salary: £39,000–£40,000 (plus 33% shift allowance for night shifts)
Hours: 40 hours per week

As a CNC Machinist, you will:

• Set and operate CNC Mill-Turn machines to produce components from engineering drawings.
• Ensure all work complies with company quality standards and HSE regulations.
• Inspect your own work for precision and accuracy.
• Perform preventative and general maintenance checks.
• Produce components to required standards efficiently and within deadlines.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to 5S principles.
• Demonstrate excellent timekeeping, attendance, and a strong work ethic.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Skilled in setting and operating CNC Mill-Turn machines.
• Experienced in editing and proving out CNC programs.
• Competent in using a range of measuring equipment.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• A proactive team player with a positive, “can-do” attitude.
• Self-motivated and committed to high standards of workmanship.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience operating CNC machines.
• Apprenticeship trained or time-served in a relevant discipline.
• Experience in the oil and gas industry is advantageous but not essential.
• Familiarity with Fanuc controls is highly desirable.
