Afternoon Shift CNC Operator – Sliding Head (Fanuc Controls)

Location: Redditch
Salary: £30,000 - £36,000
Shift: Afternoon

A well-established precision engineering company is looking for a skilled CNC Operator to join their afternoon shift team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a machinist with sliding head experience and a solid understanding of Fanuc controls to work with high-spec machinery in a clean, well-organised environment.

Key Machines (in order of priority):

• Hanwha
• Star
• Tornos
• Citizen
  All machines are equipped with milling capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain sliding head CNC machines using Fanuc controls
• Perform basic setups and adjust offsets and inserts as needed
• Conduct regular quality checks using gauging, micrometres, and verniers
• Load material and monitor production runs
• Maintain setup integrity and ensure consistent part quality

Advantageous Skills:

• Ability to change milling cutters, drills, and taps
• Experience using shadowgraph and non-digital bore micrometres

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Proven experience operating sliding head CNC machines
• Strong familiarity with Fanuc control systems
• Good understanding of quality control procedures
• Ability to work independently and maintain production efficiency
• A proactive approach to machine maintenance and tooling adjustments
