CNC Setter

Job Title: CNC Setter (Milling or Turning)

Location: Commutable from Nottingham, Derby, Chesterfield, and Loughborough
Salary: £29,500 - £40,750 per year (including shift allowance, dependent on experience)

Expected Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shifts Available: Double Days - Early and Late shift, rotating weekly.

A global manufacturer and precision engineering specialist, operating in complex sectors including Aerospace, Automotive, and Defence. With state-of-the-art equipment and a focus on quality, we are looking for experienced CNC Setters to support continued growth on either our day or night shifts.

Both milling and turning positions are available depending on your background.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set and operate CNC machinery including:
  • Mazak Qt10, SQT200/250, Nexus (Mazatrol TPlus, 640T Controls)
  • QT200MB 3-Axis with Smooth Technology control
  • CHNC and TNT Fanuc-controlled machines (ISO format)
• Operate CNC machines with 2 to 5 Axis capability
• Work from detailed engineering drawings
• Operate multiple machines when required
• Ensure production targets and timeframes are met
• (Optional) Support quality control through CMM inspection

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Mechanical apprenticeship trained or equivalent proven experience
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a CNC Setter
• Experience with 2 to 5 Axis CNC machinery
• Strong knowledge of Mazatrol or Fanuc controls
• Capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision

Desirable:

• Previous experience with both milling and turning
• CMM experience for part verification

Work Schedule:

• Double Days: Monday to Friday
• Night Shift also available
• Overtime available

Work Location: On-site only - remote work not available.
