CNC Setter Operator

CNC Setter / Operator Whitchurch Full Time, Permanent Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:45 and early Friday finishHands-on machining. Precision parts. Room to develop.If you're an experienced CNC Setter/Operator who takes pride in getting machines set correctly, producing quality components and keeping production moving, this could be a great opportunity.

We're looking for someone with Drill CNC experience to join an established manufacturing environment in Whitchurch, working across CNC milling, saw and manual machining.

This is a genuinely hands-on position, with plenty of variety and the opportunity to build on your existing CNC skills and develop your programming knowledge over time.

What will you be doing?You'll be involved throughout the machining process, including:

Setting and operating Robo Drill CNC milling machines
Setting and operating saw and manual machinery
Reading engineering drawings and working accurately to dimensions and tolerances
Measuring and inspecting finished components
Selecting and setting tooling correctly for each job
Carrying out efficient machine changeovers
Loading and checking CNC programmes, with the opportunity to learn more about CNC programming
Using Renishaw probing where required — experience is useful but not essential
Supporting prototype and new component work
Troubleshooting machine and machining issues
Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and repeatability
Keeping machinery, tooling and your working area clean, safe and well maintainedWhat we're looking forWe're looking for someone who is practical, reliable and confident around CNC machinery.

You'll ideally have:

Previous CNC Setting and Operating experience
Strong CNC setting and operating experience
Good understanding of milling and machining processes
Experience with manual machining and/or saws
Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
Experience using inspection and measuring equipment
Good knowledge of tooling and machining methods
Strong attention to detail
Good practical problem-solving skills
A willingness to learn and developIf you're a capable Setter/Operator with the right Robo Drill experience and you're interested in developing your programming skills, there is scope to learn and progress within the role.
