CNC Programmer

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday - 7:00am – 4:00pm

Salary: £18.00 – £21.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Day to Day Duties:

• Program, set, and operate CNC machines to produce precision-engineered components
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Select appropriate tools, materials, and machine settings
• Conduct quality checks and first-off inspections using measuring equipment
• Adjust programs and settings to ensure high-quality output
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Liaise with production and engineering teams to resolve technical issues

Essential Skills:

• Previous experience as a CNC Programmer
• Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
• Strong knowledge of CNC programming (Fanuc, Mazatrol or similar)
• Experience setting and operating CNC lathes or mills
• Good understanding of tolerances and machining principles
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in low to medium volume precision engineering
• Familiarity with offline programming software (e.g. EdgeCAM, Fusion 360)
• Knowledge of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Training:

• On-the-job training provided on company-specific systems and machinery
• Opportunities for further technical development and external courses where required
