CNC Sliding Head Setter/Operator

Salary - Circa £35-£40k

Monday - Friday double days 6am-2pm 2pm-10pm

Your new role:

We are recruiting for an experienced CNC Sliding Head Machinist to join a well-established precision engineering and manufacturing business.This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC machinist with experience of sliding head lathes who is comfortable setting, operating and ideally programming CNC machinery to produce high-quality precision components.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

Setting and operating CNC sliding head lathes
Programming and editing CNC machines where required
Producing precision components to engineering drawings and specifications
Selecting and setting appropriate tooling
Carrying out tool changes, offsets and machine adjustments
Using measuring equipment including micrometres, verniers and gauges
This is just a summed-up list, and other duties will be required.

Skills & Experience required:

Previous experience working as a CNC Sliding Head Machinist, Setter, Operator or Programmer
Experience with sliding head CNC machinery such as Citizen, Star, Tornos or similar
Strong CNC turning knowledge
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Experience setting tooling and making machine adjustments
Good understanding of tolerances and inspection procedures
