CNC Turning Team Lead | Woking | £40,000 - £50,000
Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm | 40 hours per week
We are working with a specialist engineering business looking for an experienced CNC Turning Team Lead to join its manufacturing operation in Woking.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced CNC machinist who is ready to take the next step into a leadership role, combining hands-on technical expertise with team management, production planning and continuous improvement.
You will lead a team of CNC machinists, setters, operators and programmers, ensuring the safe, efficient and cost-effective manufacture of high-quality precision components.
The Role
Working closely with Quality, Production Engineering, Maintenance, Design and Engineering teams, you will play a key role in achieving production targets, supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and driving improvements across the machine shop.
You will:
+Lead, motivate and develop a team of CNC machinists and manufacturing staff +Conduct daily team briefings and communicate production priorities +Monitor performance, attendance, training and development requirements +Support recruitment, onboarding and mentoring of new team members +Ensure production schedules, quality and delivery targets are achieved +Coordinate workloads and resources to maximise machine utilisation +Monitor KPIs including productivity, scrap, downtime, quality and delivery +Provide technical support across CNC programming, setting and machining
About You
We are looking for an experienced CNC professional with previous supervisory or team leadership experience and a strong technical understanding of turning and machining processes.
You will ideally have:
+Proven experience in CNC turning, programming, setting and operation +Previous experience leading or supervising a manufacturing team +Strong knowledge of Mazatrol controls and ISO CNC programming +Experience with Mazak Hyper Quadrex or similar multi-axis CNC machines +Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications +Strong knowledge of machining practices, tooling and cutting parameters +Experience with process optimisation and continuous improvement
What’s on Offer?
+40-hour working week, Monday to Friday +Working hours of 7:30am–4:00pm, with some flexibility +Additional production bonus linked to factory performance +Overtime available at 1.5x basic salary, when authorised
This role would suit a Senior CNC Turner, CNC Supervisor, Machine Shop Supervisor or experienced CNC Team Leader looking to take ownership of a machining department and make a genuine impact on productivity, quality, delivery and team development
