CNC Turner / Programmer – Late shift

A well-established precision engineering company where more than 50% of the team have been with them for over 10 years' are seeking a CNC Turner / Programmer to join their team. The company manufacture low-volume, high-quality tubular and threaded components for sectors including aerospace, oil and gas, and defence. The established late shift means Monday to Thursday working, every Friday off, and actual earnings of approximately £50,654-£57,319 per annum including the late-shift premium, depending on experience.

Please note:  This is a CNC programming role - not a setter / operator-only position. You must be confident writing new CNC turning programs from scratch at the machine, as well as setting and operating, with minimal supervision

We are looking for a CNC Turner / Programmer with:

Proven experience programming, setting and operating 2-axis CNC turning machines.
Able to write new CNC programs from scratch/long-hand at the machine, with little or no supervision.
Strong working knowledge of G-code programming.
Confident completing the full machine set-up from engineering drawing to finished component, including material, tooling, speeds, feeds and cutting conditions.
Able to edit and optimise existing programs where required.
Strong understanding of engineering drawings, geometric tolerances, surface finishes and in-process inspection.
Experience producing one-off and low-to-medium-volume precision components in a range of hard and soft metals.
Confident working on parts from approximately Ø25 mm x 100 mm up to Ø300 mm x 3 m. Hoist training is provided.
Quality-driven, self-motivated and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Package and benefits:

Permanent, full-time position with an immediate start available.
Four-day week: Monday-Wednesday 4.30 pm-3.30 am; Thursday 4.30 pm-1.00 am.
Late-shift premium paid at time plus one third.
