This is a permanent opportunity with an established precision engineering company in Andover, working on varied components where accurate setting, programming and machining are important.

What you'll be doing
You'll be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines, producing precision components to engineering drawings and specified tolerances.
The role will involve:

Programming, setting and operating Fanuc-controlled CNC lathes
Programming using G-codes and M-codes
Working with 2-axis CNC turning
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
Selecting and setting tooling and work-holding
Carrying out first-off and in-process inspections
Troubleshooting machining issues and adjusting where required
Machining materials including steel, aluminium and stainless steel
Maintaining a clean and organised working area 
What we're looking for
You'll need:

Previous experience as a CNC Turner
Fanuc programming experience
Experience with 2-axis turning
Good understanding of G-codes and M-codes
Experience setting CNC lathes
Ability to read engineering drawings
Experience working to tight tolerances
Understanding of tooling and machining principles
A good eye for detail and quality
