Job Title - CNC Turner Setter/Operator

PERMANENT POSITION

Salary package - £35-37K DOE including shift allowance

Location - Devizes, Wiltshire

Hours - 39 hours a week

Shifts - rotating double day shift pattern (see below)

We're working with a leading, long-established engineering company based in Devizes, Wiltshire, currently looking to recruit an experienced CNC Turner Setter/Operator to join their high-performing team on a permanent basis.

With over 80 years of industry presence and multiple sites across the Southwest, our client is a market leader supplying components to a global blue-chip customer base.

The Role:

As a CNC Turner, you will play a key role in the Turning Department, ensuring precision and quality while producing small batch, high-tolerance components. You'll operate a variety of CNC lathes, primarily with Fanuc controls, to manufacture complex parts in line with engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC lathes including Doosan and Alpha machines using Fanuc controls
• Produce precision components that meet detailed engineering drawings
• Complete relevant production documentation and inspection records
• Update the ERP system for each job
• Conduct daily machine checks and report issues promptly
• Work to tight tolerances in a clean, well-organised environment
• Uphold quality standards, safety practices, and lean manufacturing processes

Ideal Candidate:

• Proven experience as a CNC Turner Setter/Operator
• Comfortable working with Fanuc (and ideally Heidenhain) control systems
• Background in precision engineering or high-tolerance manufacturing
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn
• EDM training is provided due to the unique nature of the components
• Embraces good housekeeping and continuous improvement principles

Shifts:

After an initial training period on day shift (Mon-Fri), the role will move to a rotating double day shift:

• Early Shift:
  Mon-Thu: 6:00am - 2:30pm
  Fri: 6:00am - 11:00am
• Late Shift:
  Mon-Thu: 2:30pm - 11:00pm
  Fri: 11:00am - 4:00pm
