Job Description - Collections Advisor

Lamport, Northants

Are you a strong communicator with a passion for delivering fair outcomes to customers? If so, we have an opportunity to join our client's growing Collections Operations team on a permanent basis.

About the Role

As a Collections Advisor, you’ll play a vital part in the customer support journey. Using phone, email, SMS, and written communication, you’ll engage with customers to agree on fair and affordable repayment solutions—always ensuring compliance with industry regulations and delivering excellent service.

You’ll also administer rule-based trace products and manage inbound communication from customers and third parties such as Debt Management Companies. Your attention to detail will ensure that every customer interaction is accurately recorded and that all regulatory and client obligations are always met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate with customers via telephone, email, SMS, and letters
  • Agree affordable repayment solutions in line with client expectations
  • Handle both inbound and outbound contact
  • Process and update customer records using the internal system (Debtrak)
  • Administer trace instructions in line with internal policy
  • Ensure compliance with FCA regulations and company procedures
  • Contribute to a customer-centric culture, ensuring fair treatment at all times
What We’re Looking For
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A customer-first mindset with a fair and empathetic approach
  • Strong attention to detail and administrative accuracy
  • Ability to follow structured procedures and meet regulatory requirements
  • Resilience and confidence in handling sensitive conversations
  • Previous experience in a collections, contact centre, or financial services role is desirable but not essential
