Position Purpose
The Combination Welding Lead Instructor is responsible for providing lead coordination and instruction of the Combination Welding Program. This position is required to teach assigned classes as scheduled or as assigned, and perform administrative functions related to teaching.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate administrative functions of the Program, including overseeing daily operations.
- Conduct faculty meetings and participate in educational conferences, professional training, and seminars as well as staff/department meetings
- Teach classes on a regularly scheduled basis assigned and create a welcoming environment for students that is conducive to learning.
- Assist Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, or Campus Executive Director in developing curriculum, preparing course materials, class scheduling, and maintaining tools and equipment used by students.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work environment.
- Advise students on academic and behavior issues. Act as an advisor to “at risk” students. Combination Lead Instructor
- Process student evaluations, grades, and all other required reports/documentation.
- Assign class and teaching schedules.
- Assess students for acceptable Rates of Progress and GPAs, and counsel/document accordingly.
- Fill in as substitute instructor. Provide tutoring opportunities to students.
- Oversee department equipment and supplies inventory and submit purchase requests for replenishment of supplies as needed.
- Oversee the maintenance and utilization of equipment used in the Program.
- Conduct student exit interviews every module
- Assist Program Coordinator in the hiring, disciplinary and dismissal process.
- Complete instructor and course content evaluations on a regular and timely basis.
- Document all student action notifications in Campus Nexus (attendance probation, recycles, drops, restarts, LOAs, and transfers).
- Handle student and instructor grievances with urgency and importance.
- Participate in formal and informal mentoring of new employees to support onboarding, training, and joining a positive work culture that supports the institution and its students.
- Perform and complete other tasks that may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- American Welding Society (AWS) certification within the first six (6) months of employment.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum three (3) years of hands-on practical, related work experience in welding is required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven, compliance-oriented educational environment.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and have the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism.
- Persuasive and effective verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service in an educational setting.
- Highly motivated and goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work independently and as collaborative team member and have exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Excellent computer skills are required with proficiency in MS Office applications including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Exhibits a positive, team-oriented attitude by remaining flexible and available to work outside of scheduled hours when needed, as directed by the Supervisor.

Full-Time (FT) Day Shift:
- Monday – Thursday: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- Friday or Saturday (Rotational): 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM, 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM, or 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Flexible schedule to complete 40 hours)
Full-Time (FT) Evening Shift:
- Monday – Thursday: 1:00 PM – 10:30 PM
- Friday or Saturday (Rotational): Flexible schedule
