Commercial Accountant

Meraki Talent are supporting with the appointment of a permanent Commercial Accountant based in East Lothian (hybrid working) paying a highly competitive salary & benefits.

The Opportunity

This high-performing organisation is seeking a commercially astute Accountant with the capability to partner effectively with both senior leadership and non-financial stakeholders. The role plays a pivotal part in shaping strategic direction and supporting informed decision-making through insightful financial analysis. A genuine passion for operational excellence is essential, as the successful candidate will be instrumental in identifying opportunities to drive efficiency, enhance performance, and maximise profitability across the business.

The key components include:

• Business partnering with SLT and non-financial stakeholders
• Production and presentation of monthly reporting packs & management accounts
• KPI setting and reporting
• Budgeting setting and monitoring including variance analysis
• Feeding into year-end process
• Reviewing and developing processes, procedures, controls & systems

Candidate Profile

We are keen to engage with candidates that match the following criteria:

• Qualified Accountant, although qualified by experience will be considered
• Excellent management accounting experience, and can demonstrate excellent business partnering exposure with senior and/or non-financial stakeholders
• Engineering sector experience is advantageous
• Strong communication & Excel skills
