Commercial Assistant

An established specialist contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Assistant to join its growing commercial team.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the construction industry and will support the commercial and quantity surveying functions across a range of high-end commercial, residential and hospitality projects, with a particular focus on specialist finishes, stonework and bespoke joinery.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the commercial team with day-to-day commercial and project administration.

Assisting with valuations, variations, purchase orders, invoices and payment applications.

*

Reviewing subcontractor and supplier quotations and costs.

*

Maintaining accurate cost, procurement and project records.

*

Assisting with budgets, cost reports and commercial reporting.

*

Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and internal project teams.

*

Reviewing drawings, specifications and project documentation.

*

Assisting with procurement and subcontractor management.

*

Monitoring project costs and highlighting discrepancies or potential commercial issues.

About You

*

Previous experience as a Commercial Assistant, Assistant Quantity Surveyor or in a similar construction-based commercial role.

*

Good understanding of construction processes, costs and terminology.

*

Strong numerical, organisational and administrative skills.

*

Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

*

Confident communicating with suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.

*

Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and commercial documentation.

*

Experience in fit-out, interiors, stonework, joinery or specialist contracting would be advantageous.
