I'm recruiting for a Finance Business Partner opportunity with an established organisation in York that is looking for someone who can bring commercial thinking, strong financial analysis and the confidence to challenge and influence.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to move beyond traditional reporting and play a genuine role in helping different areas of a business understand their financial performance and make better decisions.

The role

Working closely with the Finance Director and senior leadership team, you'll provide financial insight across the organisation, supporting teams with planning, forecasting and performance analysis.

You'll be involved in understanding the drivers behind financial performance, identifying opportunities and risks, and translating financial information into clear recommendations for stakeholders.

There is plenty of scope to make your mark, particularly for someone who enjoys building relationships and finding better ways of doing things.

You'll be involved in:

• Business partnering with senior stakeholders and non-finance teams


• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning


• Analysing financial performance and investigating variances


• Producing financial analysis, modelling and management information


• Providing insight and constructive challenge around business performance


• Helping stakeholders understand the financial impact of decisions


• Supporting longer-term planning and organisational objectives


• Using Excel and reporting tools to turn data into meaningful insight


• Supporting strong financial controls and governance


• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and financial performance

About you

They're looking for a commercially minded finance professional with experience in business partnering and financial analysis.

You'll ideally be part-qualified ACCA, ACA or CIMA, although equivalent experience will be considered. You'll need strong Excel skills, confidence working with data and, ideally, experience with reporting tools such as Power BI.

More importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys working with people as much as working with numbers. You'll be comfortable explaining financial information to non-finance stakeholders, asking questions, challenging constructively and turning analysis into something genuinely useful.
