Commercial Controller – Construction
Wakefield / Hybrid | Full-Time, Permanent

A great opportunity to join a leading construction business in a commercially focused support role.

We’re looking for a capable and detail-oriented Commercial Controller to support the commercial team across the full project lifecycle – from budget tracking through to reporting, cost control, and contract compliance. You’ll work closely with colleagues in the commercial team to ensure commercial accuracy and minimise risk.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assisting with the preparation and monitoring of project budgets and forecasts
• Tracking and reporting Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), identifying discrepancies and risks
• Supporting valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts
• Reviewing contracts and purchase orders to ensure compliance
• Liaising with internal teams to maintain accurate commercial data and records
• Assisting with subcontractor and supplier assessments and payment processes
• Contributing to monthly commercial and project performance reports
• Supporting improvements to commercial systems and tools

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in a commercial or cost control role within construction or manufacturing
• Knowledge of cost reporting, contract administration, and payment processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and commercial/ERP systems
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
• Confident communicator and team player with good organisational skills
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications

A qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar (HNC/HND or degree level) would be a plus, but not essential.
