Commercial Controller

Starting Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 per annum + Bonus + Car Allowance
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday | Site-based

A growing multi-million pounds food manufacturer with a BRC AA+ accredited site is looking to appoint a Commercial Controller to join its senior commercial team.

This exciting opportunity offers the chance to lead the commercial strategy across a diverse portfolio spanning major UK retail, B2B and foodservice customers, covering both branded and own-label products. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will lead a team of National Account Managers while driving profitable growth, customer engagement and commercial excellence.

Working closely with NPD, Technical, Operations and Supply Chain, you will play a key role in bringing innovative chilled products to market, ensuring commercial opportunities are successfully translated into sustainable business growth.

This is a high-impact leadership role where you'll shape customer strategy, influence senior stakeholders, develop your team and play an integral part in the continued growth of a fast-paced food manufacturing business.

What You'll Be Doing

 • Lead the commercial strategy across major UK retail, B2B and foodservice accounts covering both branded and own-label products
 • Manage, coach and develop a team of National Account Managers to maximise performance and customer success
 • Build and strengthen strategic customer relationships, identifying opportunities for profitable growth
 • Lead commercial negotiations, ensuring outcomes align with both customer expectations and business objectives
 • Work closely with NPD, Technical, Operations and Supply Chain to successfully deliver innovation projects and product launches
 • Drive pricing strategies, margin management and commercial decision-making across your customer portfolio
 • Provide accurate sales forecasts and support demand planning activities across the business
 • Deliver commercial reporting, market insights and performance updates to senior leadership
 • Influence cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully and customer commitments are achieved
 • Champion a customer-focused, commercially driven culture across the wider business

Your Background

 • Proven experience in a Commercial Manager, Senior National Account Manager or similar leadership role within chilled, short shelf-life food manufacturing
 • Demonstrable success delivering profitable growth across major retail, B2B and/or foodservice customers
 • Experience managing both branded and own-label product portfolios
 • Strong commercial negotiation skills with experience in pricing and margin management
 • Experience leading and developing high-performing commercial teams
 • Strong understanding of customer strategy, innovation and bringing new products successfully to market
 • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels across a business
 • Commercially astute, highly organised and comfortable operating within a fast-paced environment
