Commercial Finance Manager

Reed Finance are pleased to be partnering on a retained basis with a pioneering scientific company based in North Bristol in the search for a Commercial Finance Manager.

As Commercial Finance Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving financial performance, partnering with senior stakeholders, and leading a small but capable finance team. You’ll be responsible for delivering insightful analysis, robust forecasting, and strategic financial support across the business.

Salary up to £60,000 + generous benefits + hybrid/ flexible working.

This is a full-time role, although 4 days a week could be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial analysis including forecasting, profitability reporting, pricing strategies, and monthly management accounts.
• Partner with department heads to support financial decision-making and drive efficiencies.
• Oversee project financial administration including invoicing schedules, income recognition, and stock/expenses control.
• Manage and develop two finance team members covering AP, AR, payroll, treasury, and audit.
• Drive ERP system implementation and process improvements across finance and operations.
• Develop financial and operational reporting using ERP and BI tools.
• Ensure compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS and financial reporting regulations.

About You

Essential:

• Experienced in management accounting and financial reporting.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong systems knowledge and financial IT skills.

Desirable:

• Experience in manufacturing or consultancy environments.
• Exposure to ERP implementations and financial process change.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central, Power BI, Power Query, SQL.
