Commercial Insurance Account Handler / Executive
Location: Exeter / Hybrid
Salary: £25,000-£40,000 (Guide and flexible depending on experience)

The Company:

An established and growing insurance brokerage based in the South West, focused on Commercial clients with a strong bias toward motor trade, haulage, and fleet risks. The business is growing steadily, with ambitions to double staff numbers and significantly increase GWP over the next few years. The team is collaborative, forward-thinking, and values personality and initiative as much as experience.

The Role:

This is a hybrid role ideal for someone with commercial insurance experience who is ready to take the next step. You’ll start by inheriting a book of business and managing existing client relationships. The role can involve or evolve into an Account Executive position, with opportunities to build your own portfolio and shape your career path.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and servicing a portfolio of SME commercial clients
• Handling renewals, mid-term adjustments, and new business enquiries
• Using Acturis to process policies and manage client data
• Building relationships with insurers and negotiating terms
• Contributing ideas and exploring niche markets or personal interests to grow the business
• There’s a bonus scheme in place for new business, offering income generated over monthly income target (lots of inbound leads available)

The Required Skills:

• Experience in commercial insurance, ideally with SME clients
• Ideally proficient with Acturis
• Commercial insurance knowledge preferably with some motor-based exposure e.g. across motor trade, fleet, and general commercial lines
• A proactive and personable approach to client service
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Open to ideas and keen to contribute to business growth
• Comfortable in a dynamic, non-corporate environment
