Commercial Litigation Associate

A well-known national firm is looking to appoint an experienced commercial litigator (Senior Associate or Director level) into its Sheffield office. This is a strong opportunity to take on a leadership role in a growing disputes team, working with high-profile clients and handling a broad mix of commercial litigation work.

The opportunity:

• Join a national Dispute Resolution team with real strength in depth and an impressive client base across sectors, including manufacturing, retail, healthcare and technology
• Handle a varied caseload of commercial disputes including contract claims, shareholder disputes, warranty claims, professional negligence and injunctive relief
• Get involved in larger national matters alongside colleagues in other offices, as well as leading on your own high-value regional instructions
• Actively contribute to the development of the Sheffield offering, with plenty of scope to grow your own client relationships and profile in the market

The role:

• Senior-level fee earning position, either at experienced Senior Associate or early-stage Director level
• Day-to-day management of complex files with minimal supervision, as well as supporting more junior colleagues
• Involvement in strategic input for the team’s growth, both locally and nationally
• Close collaboration with clients, referrers and internal teams, including corporate, real estate and private client
• A genuinely flexible role with strong hybrid working and autonomy

What the firm is looking for:

• A qualified solicitor with significant experience in commercial litigation, ideally 7+ PQE
• Strong technical ability across a broad range of dispute types
• Someone commercially astute and confident in front of clients
• A team player who enjoys mentoring junior lawyers and helping to grow a practice
• Previous exposure to business development or a clear appetite to build your profile in the region
