We're representing a highly regarded legal services provider in Manchester that acts on behalf of several major UK banks, financial institutions, and mortgage lenders. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy, well-structured litigation department that deals with a broad range of consumer debt recovery and financial litigation matters.

The Role

You will join a collaborative litigation team led by a highly experienced head of department, overseeing three specialist teams covering:

• Asset-based lending disputes
• Motor commission recoveries
• Mortgage recovery and enforcement
• You'll be responsible for managing a varied caseload of both low- and high-value debt recovery litigation, primarily on behalf of large institutional clients including leading high-street banks, specialist lenders, and financial services groups

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of litigated consumer debt matters, including secured and unsecured recovery.
• Act for major lenders and group companies on financial recoveries including arrears, possession proceedings, enforcement, and contested claims.
• Draft pleadings, witness statements, applications, and correspondence.
• Provide strategic advice on settlement, enforcement, and alternative dispute resolution.
• Attend hearings (where required) and liaise with counsel and external stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with paralegals and junior fee earners, offering support and supervision where appropriate.
• Maintain high client service levels and meet SLA and compliance standards.

About You

This role is ideal for a motivated and commercially aware solicitor who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is keen to work closely with blue-chip clients in the financial services sector.

You will have:

• NQ-4 years PQE (or equivalent experience) in civil or commercial litigation.
• Experience in financial recoveries, consumer credit, or mortgage litigation is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of the litigation process including CPR, enforcement procedures, and pre-action protocol.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
• The ability to handle volume work efficiently without compromising on quality or compliance.
